The University of Mysore became the first university outside the domain of the British administration in India, the sixth University in India as a whole, and is the first of its kind in Karnataka University. It is the State University of affiliating type, and became a self-3 - March 1956, when he received the award from the University Grants Commission. The main campus of the university, founded in 1960, is situated in the picturesque surface of 739 hectares on the western end of Kukkarahalli lake.
University of Mysore is one of the oldest prime minister and universities in India now includes 122 affiliated Colleges and 5 constituent colleges (with an aggregate of 53000 students). In addition, the University is a postgraduate department 37, 8 specialized research and training centres and 2 postgraduate centres which together provide about 55 regular academic programs for 3500 students.
