(BEIJING, August 13) -- World No. 3 pair Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng of China advanced to the semifinal by defeating World No. 20 Howard Bach and Bob Malaythong of the United States 21-9 and 21-10 in the Badminton Men's Doubles quarterfinal on Wednesday, August 13.
The Chinese pair led by 8 points in the first game before their opponents managed to put anything on the board. They won this game 21-9 with ease.
The second game saw Bach and Malaythong keep up with and even lead the Chinese until the score reached 8-7, after which China played in better form and scored 14 points while their rivals only took two. The game ended 21-10 in favor of the Chinese.
The Chinese duo will meet current World No. 13 Lee Jae-jin and Hwang Ji-man of the Republic of Korea in the semifinal.
